Venna Krishnan temple opened up for devotees at Dommasandra from 7thJune 2004, in the month of Edvam on the day of 'Thiru Onam' (the birthday of Vaishnava Lord Sree Krishna) day. The prathishta (installation of deity) was done under the supervision of the lead Priest from Payannur Kunnathu Pallakkezhu Illam Brahmasree Eeshwara Vadhiyan Namboodri.

From then, the day-to-today pooja's and administrations of the temple is being led by Payannur Arrangil Karikullathu M.K Sivadas Namboodri.
The main deity in the temple is 'Venna Krishnan'. It's a beautiful “moorthy” (statue) of Balakrishna holding butter in right hand and flute in left hand with a smiling face.

“Venna Krishnan” has been showering his blessings to people who suffer
from various issues like “Sandana Klesham” - childless couples being blessed with children, “Roga peeda” - people suffering from illness getting blessed with health by Krishna here in the form of Dhanwandri Moorthy, the god of medicine, “Mangalya dosham”- people who suffer from delayed marriage getting blessed for immediate marriage.

The lord Sree Krishna here continues to bless devotees with good health, prosperity and peace. The temple has plans for expansions providing better facilities for devotees. With blessings of Sree Krishna, I'm submitting all my offers and prayers to the feet of the lord.

Prathishta Day Musical Festival : From month edavam one to edvam thirty, we are planning to hold musical festival. On the day of 'Thiru Onam', cultural programs to be held to reach out to the current generation as a knowledge transfer.

Temple is planning to create funds which will be used to support following:

Annadana Fund : For offering food/prasadam

Education fund : Fund that supports for under privileged section of the community for education or related expenditures like educational fees, books, computers and laptops etc.

Dhanwandri Fund : For offerings support for hospital treatments

Mangalya Nidi : Helping families from bottom section of community with marriage related expenditures.

Future initiatives of Temple

We are planning to construct a stage (mandap) for Bhagavata Sapthaham, Speech Series, Thulabaram, Choroonu, Saraswathy Pooja, Vidayarmbham and other cultural activities. We are planning to expand temple premise to accommodate these needs. The estimated cost for this expansion project is aprx Rs. 20.0 crore.
